- Youth Ministry Workshop -- 10:00 AM
Pastor Shawn McBride will have a workshop for Youth Ministry Workers, Pastors, and Parents from 10:00 AM-12:00PM at Grace United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 29. Learn how to connect relationally to today's teenagers and learn the five needs of every teenager. At 3:00 PM there is a youth workshop, "Becoming a Disciple of Christ" and a free meal at 5:00 PM. Pastor Shawn will continue with the second part of his series after a praise session. The event will conclude at 9:00 PM. - Dutch Oven Contest
Calling all area Dutch Oven cookers! The Sioux County Conservation Board will be hosting the second annual Dutch Oven gathering at Oak Grove Park Turkey Ridge Campground on Saturday, September 29. Dishes to include for the event are breads, appetizers, main dishes, desserts. There will be a prize awarded for best dish and a potluck meal afterwards. You can call Sunday Ford at 552-3057 to sign up as a cooker.
- Dordt College Alumni Weekend
The annual Dordt College Alumni Weekend, September 28 and 29 celebrates the college, reunites former classmates, and promises fun for the whole family. Events during the week include sports, networking events, and a dueling piano show. See a full list of events at dordt.edu/events/alumni_weekend.
- Orphan Ministry -- 5:00 PM
Katelyn’s Fund Orphan Ministry will be hosting a Family Fun Night on Saturday, September 29 at 5:30 PM in the Youth Family Life Center at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center. “Deuces Wild! Dueling Pianos” brings a mix of comedy, music, and improvisation to the Dordt College B.J. Haan Auditorium on Saturday, September 29, at 7:00 PM. The show is reserved seating only and $10 per ticket, which can be acquired by emailing wes.fopma@dordt.edu or by calling 722-6022.
