- Tony Campolo Speaks at Dordt -- 11:00 AM
Tony Campolo, founder and president of the Evangelical Association for the Promotion of Education, will speak at Dordt College on Monday, October 1, as part of the First Mondays Speaker Series. Campolo will give an 11 a.m. presentation and a 7:30 p.m. presentation, both in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. The public is invited to attend.

Northwestern College’s annual Morning on the Green carnival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 6, as part of Raider Days, the college’s annual celebration of homecoming and family weekend. - KDCR Travelogue -- 7:30 PM
KDCR presents “The Great Rocky Mountain RV Adventure!” travelogue Friday, October 12. The audience will journey along the Rocky Mountains from New Mexico to Montana, exploring the familiar and the not so familiar natural wonders along the way. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium on the campus of Dordt College. Tickets can be purchased at the door and cost $5 for adults and $3.50 for students.

Fall Festival of Gospel Music will be held on Sunday, October 14 from 2:00 PM until 8:30 PM at the Lennox Ebenezer Presbyterian Church located at 305 W 1st Ave in Lennox, South Dakota. Supper will be served at 5:30 PM and a freewill offering will be taken in the afternoon and evening.

Mixed Blood Theatre Company will present Theory of Mind at Dordt College’s B.J. Haan Auditorium on Monday, October 15, at 11:00 a.m. The 45-minute show chronicles the life of a young man with Asperger’s Syndrome, an autism spectrum disorder, as he prepares for college. This performance, sponsored by the Dordt College Co-Curricular Committee, is free and open to the public.

- New Defender Logo -- 10:30 PM
The New Defender logo will be unveiled on Friday, October 19, at the Late Night with the Defenders event, during Parents Weekend. The event starts at 10:30 p.m. and features a dunking competition and audience participation competitions for prizes.

The public is invited to attend the inauguration ceremony of the fourth president of Dordt College, Dr. Erik Hoekstra. The event will be held in the B.J. Haan Auditorium on the campus of Dordt College at 11 a.m., Friday, October 19.
- Women of Faith Bus Ride -- 6:00 AM
A bus will be available for those who wish to attend the Women of Faith tour on Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20 and will be heading to Rock Rapids to St. Paul, Minnesota. There are still 15 seats available. The bus leaves Rock Rapids at 6am on Friday and will return at 10:30 PM on Saturday. The cost of the trip includes a ticket to Women of Faith, t-shirt, transportation, motel, and some meals. Different payment options are $215/person if you chose to have 4 people per motel room, $225/person for 3 people per motel room, and $240/person for 2 people per motel room!

The Dordt College music department invites the community to its annual Fall Music Festival Friday, October 19, at 7 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. Instrumental and vocal ensembles will perform as part of Parents Weekend activities. In addition, the Jazz Band will perform at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 20, in the Campus Center, and there will be an organ showcase at 2 p.m. Saturday in the B.J. Haan Auditorium.

Orange City Area Health System is hosting the 12th annual “Evening Especially for Women” on Tuesday, October 23, at the Prairie Winds Event Center in Orange City. Doors for the event open at 5:00 PM, and the appetizer buffet before speaker Pat McGill takes the stage at 6:15 PM. Tickets are $15 each and include the appetizer buffet, a beverage of choice, a gift, and the chance to win door prizes. Tickets are available, with payment, at the Orange City Area Health System ER reception desk at 1000 Lincoln Circle SE in Orange City, or by ordering from Barb Den Herder, Education Coordinator for the health system. The SERVE Team at American Reformed Church in Orange City invites everyone in the community to participate in a Saturday morning service outreach from 9 AM until 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 27. People will gather at the church, located on Albany Avenue, and warm up with coffee, cider, cocoa, and donuts, before being split up into various projects based on their interests.
