- Edible Book Contest -- 10:00 AM
The Dordt College Hulst Library is hosting an “Edible Book Contest” on Monday, April 9. The community is encouraged to submit entries related to books and constructed from something edible. Submit your creation to the library by 10:00 AM. Voting for People’s Choice will be from 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM. Winners will be announced at 4:00 PM, with a tasting reception to follow.
- Cornerstone Prison Benefit Banquet -- 6:30 PM
The “Cornerstone Prison Church” Benefit Banquet will be held at 6:30 PM on Monday, April 9, at the Rock Valley Trinity Christian Reformed Church. Valley Male Chorus will perform. There is no charge for the meal, but a free-will offering will be taken. Call the church at 476-5292 prior to April 6 to reserve a seat.
- Traumatic Brain Injury Lecture -- 7:00 PM
Lance Reinke, a neuropsychologist from the Chicagoland area, will present a public lecture at 7:00 PM on Monday, April 9, at Dordt College. His lecture will focus on Traumatic Brain Injuries and childhood developmental disorders such as ADHD and learning disorders.
- Presentation on Human Trafficking -- 7:00 PM
Ian Kitterman will make a presentation on the practice of human trafficking in the United States at 7:00 PM on Monday, April 9, in the Dordt College Campus Center - room CA319. Kitterman will focus on the nature of human trafficking – particularly that of children – and what can be done to respond to the problem.
