- Legislative Forums
On Saturday, January 14, Representative Chuck Soderberg and Senator Randy Feenstra will be hosting legislative forums at the following locations:
8:30 AM – Orange City City Hall
10:00 AM – Maurice Community Center
11:30 AM – Le Mars Public Library
1:00 PM – Akron Public Library
2:30 PM – Hawarden City Hall
- Sheldon Christian School Baked Potato Supper -- 5:00 PM
The Sheldon Christian School Auxiliary will hold their annual Baked Potato Supper in the Sheldon school gym on Monday, January 14. The supper will be served from 5:00 PM until 7:00 pm. A free-will donation will be taken and everyone is welcome to attend.
- Birds of a Feather -- 6:30 PM
Birds of a Feather, presented by Iowa State University Extension & Outreach on Monday, January 14th at 6:30 PM. The event will be about Iowa winter birds and their habitat needs. The program is free and will be at Oak Grove Park in the Oak Grove Lodge - 2nd building as you come in the park. Oak Grove Park is 6 ½ miles NE of Hawarden on K-18. Call the Sioux County Extension Office with questions at 737-4230.
- Showing of Ray Comfort's "180" -- 7:00 PM
Ray Comfort’s “180” DVD will be shown at 7:00 PM on Saturday, January 14, at the Orange City Cornerstone Baptist Church. Special guest, Representative Dwayne Alons, will speak on issues of life he has fought for in the Iowa House. This event is free to the public.
- “Dream Keeper” Chorale Presentation -- 7:30 PM
“Dream Keeper”, a musical setting of texts by Langston Hughes, will be presented by the South Dakota Chorale at 7:30 PM on Friday, January 14, in the Dordt College BJ Haan Auditorium. A free-will offering will be taken.
